 1. Product concept
1.1 What is the concept of the Logan Cup product?
Logan Cup is an entry-level motorsport car developed by Renault Sport Technologies. The purpose of Logan Cup is to make motorsport accessible to as many people as possible by keeping the sale price and the operating costs of the vehicle as low as possible.
Logan Cup will be produced in two distinct versions:
- Logan Cup Rally
- Logan Cup Circuit
The two versions of Logan Cup will be very similar in design to the production model.
1.2 Who is Logan Cup aimed at?
At any motorsport enthusiast who would like to compete in rally or circuit racing events at minimal cost.
1.3 What are the design principles of Logan Cup?
Renault Sport will be marketing:
- A Logan Cup Rally kit
- A Logan Cup Circuit kit
The kits will be delivered as spare part sets. They must be fitted to a Logan production model with a 1.6-litre, 90bhp engine.
1.4 What is included in the Rally and Circuit kits?
Each kit contains:
- Safety equipment required when competing in a motorsport event: roll-hoop, fire extinguisher, master cut-out switch, bucket seats, harness, etc.
- Technical features specific to motorsport cars: specific “Logan Cup” springs and shock absorbers, exhaust silencer, engine support brackets and gearbox support brackets.
- Design features: Exterior sticker (decal) kit, rear wing, etc.
1.5 What are the differences between Logan Cup Rally and Logan Cup Circuit?
There are very few differences between the rally and circuit versions. Compared to the circuit version, the rally version has the following additional features:
- Bucket seat, seat support and harness for the co-driver
- Manual fire extinguisher (in compliance with Group N regulations)
- Fireproof protective film for the windows (in compliance with Group N regulations)
- Sump guard
The springs and shock absorbers also differ between the two versions.
It is therefore relatively easy and inexpensive to move from one version to the other whilst keeping the same car.
1.6 What type of engine is used?
The Logan Cup kits were developed for use with Logan 1.6 (90bhp). The decision to opt for this engine size was based on the fact that it is available in all of the countries in which Logan is available for sale.

1.7 Why are the engine and gearbox exactly the same as on the production model?
The advantages of using a strictly production engine are:
- Minimal running costs
- Maximum durability
- Easy re-procurement from the Dacia network when a replacement is needed
1.8 What types of tyre are used?
Renault Sport Technologies recommends use of the tyres and braking systems fitted to production models.
1.9 What are the performance levels of Logan Cup?
The out-and-out performance of Logan Cup is not a feature of the initial technical specifications. The tests carried out by Renault Sport Technologies revealed the car to be a very enjoyable and safe car to drive.

  2. Use
2.1 In what kind of event is Logan Cup going to compete?
Logan Cup owners will be able to take part in “open” (i.e. that are open to all brands) circuit or rally motorsport events. Depending on the country and area, Logan Cups will also be able to enter single brand championships – circuit racing or rally – organized by Renault.
2.2 What type of homologation has it been given?
Logan Cup Rally and Logan Cup Circuit’s safety equipment is compliant with FIA standards.
- Logan Cup Rally will be approved for use in Group N events
- Logan Cup may be used on all types of circuit (no FIA standard required)
2.3 Has Logan Cup been approved for use on public roads?
No. Once the kit has been fitted, the vehicle may only be driven on a racetrack or in a rally. It will however be possible to use the vehicle on normal roads again by removing the components of the kit.
2.4 Does the manufacturer’s warranty cover the Logan Cup car?
The manufacturer’s warranty is no longer applicable once the kit has been fitted to a Logan.
